====== Issue 2013 - August ====== ===== apt-get remove pulseaudio ===== I've noticed some strange lags on Lenovo G780 I've bought for my parents. It started with random lags in sound output. Then it turned in whole laptop freezing for a couple seconds. I've checked load and it was high and the only reason, the sensible one, I could think of was HDD. I thought it was APMs doing, you know - green, green, green!, so I've turned it off via hdparm. It didn't help and I couldn't play any music at all later on. I had my eyes on pulse-audio for quite some time by then, but I was reluctant to make a move. I did, rebooted notebook just to be sure and all those problems went away. No more lagging/disrupted audio output, no more lags/freezes as far as I can tell. Good bye, pulse-audio. You won't be missed! --- //Zdenek Styblik 2013/08/17 12:18// ===== August review ===== This is just a personal review what I did in August * kvm-wrapper MOD - caught up with upstream, abolished Bash completely * got sick thanks to polluted water * lxc - did take a quick look and was rather impressed by consistence of cli tools * I've toyed around with Asus Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy S3 * fake-ipmistack - work has begun --- //Zdenek Styblik 2013/08/31 23:59//
