Issue 2021 - November

AWS CLI/boto3 - security token included in the request is invalid

upload failed: x.txt to s3://mybucket/x.txt An error occurred (InvalidTokenId) when calling the PutObject operation: The security token included in the request is invalid

Of course, it can be many and many things. However in the case of local instance of minio it's probably just a few. You might want to check that AWS_SESSION_TOKEN is not set. If it's set either unset it or provide a valid token.

Which is cheaper?

I was in need of respirators and I wasn't actually sure how many. I mean, I wasn't shopping only for myself and 10 isn't that many. But is it cheaper to buy pack of 10 instead of N packs of 2?

It turns out it isn't, is it? Not by much, but it still isn't. Pack of 2 cost is (rounded up) 150 CZK per item whereas pack of 10 cost is 165 CZK per item. In other words, it'd be (slightly) cheaper to buy 5 packs of 2 instead of 1 pack of 10. Is this one of those profound super secret wisdom? image source

Wisdom which makes no sense to me. How about economics and the fact that both sides want to maximize profit? Buyer wants to buy desired amount for the lowest price(cost) possible and seller wants to sell for the maximum price possible and probably, but not necessarily(I guess), as many items as possible. No? Ok. If these people buy three melons only to prove they're smarter, but actually don't need three melons, then I'd say they're stupid and this “wisdom”(I still don't see anything wise about it, sorry) is true. Otherwise it makes no sense. If I need three melons, I'll buy them. And If I'm smart enough, I'll get them for $3 each. Also, shouldn't be buying in bulk cheaper? It for sure used to be.
